Calvary Christian Academy has numerous volunteer opportunities to involve parents, alumni, and family. The list below reflects the current opportunities for the 2009 - 2010 school year. Please inform the school if you would like to volunteer your time to make one of the opportunities below memorable:
- Family Fun Night (01/15/10)
- setting up games and activities
- working concessions
- selling concession cards
- supervising games
- Box Tops 4 Education coordinator
- collect Box Tops from school drop-off sites and teachers
- inspect, cut, and sort Box Tops by type
- properly mail in Box Tops for redemption
- report results to administration including class winners
- keep up to date with special offers via email and communicate with teachers and parents
- 9th - 12th grade Fall Formal (October 24th at 7 p.m.)
- planning and preparation
- set-up, decorating, and clean up
- people to donate and/or prepare food items
- adult chaperones
- Thanksgiving Luncheons
- serving food, drinks, and dessert to guests ( any day except the day your child has the luncheon)
- decorating and setting up the night before each luncheon
- clean up after each luncheon
- assistance needed on the following dates:
- K3 - 1st grades 11/17/09
- 2nd - 5th grades 11/18/09
- 6th - 8th grades 11/19/09
- 9th - 12th grades 11/19/09
- Hawkin's Christmas Shoppe (December 15th & 16th)
- volunteers to assist students with making Christmas gift purchases for family members guided by prefilled forms from parents
- shifts can be half day or full day
- credit towards purchasing gifts provided depending on half day or full day shift
- donuts and coffee provided to the morning shift and pizza to full day volunteers
- includes wrapping up gifts and supporting Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins with any necessary tasks
- always a fun and fulfilling volunteer opportunity!
- Race4Education Event at Dover Skating Center 3/26/10 (depending on CCC occupancy approval)
- we need lots of volunteers to place "tick marks" on student's wrist bands in each corner of the skating rink
- volunteers to monitor and supervise the common areas during the younger student's events
- opportunities are available all day or during specific shifts
- Race4Education preparation
- we will need several persons to volunteer to help coordinate the entire fundraiser from beginning to end
- providing addresses and communicating with your friends and family
- during the weeks leading up to the Race4Education event we will need help with the following:
- writing addresses on envelopes, folding mailers, and stuffing envelopes
- helping students complete the personalization of the marketing piece
- sorting by destination (in and out-of-state)
- enough people to fulfill 2,000 mailpieces or greater
- Christian Book Fair (March 8th - 12th)
- volunteers to assist with setup on 3/7/09
- volunteers to work the cash register and properly track and inventory each book
- volunteers to assist students with selecting books in addition to the teachers
- volunteers to monitor and supervise students who are waiting their turn
- hours are from 9 a.m. - 4:30 pm each day and shifts are welcome
- volunteers to assist with the break down of the fair on March 12th
- Talent Show and Silent Auction (April 16th at 6:00 p.m.)
- we will need a group of volunteers to coordinate the entire Silent Auction event
- securing donations
- planning and implementing the event
- follow up thank you letters and tax donation letters
- reporting progress to administration
- setup, decorations, and securing food for the dessert reception
- we will need donations from parents coordinated by teachers
- we will need assistance with tallying auction winners during the talent show
- talent show volunteers to assist with monitoring students in the choir room
- volunteers to assist with planning and implementation of the Talent Show
- Sports Banquet (5/13/10)
- volunteers for setup, decorations, and food prep
- servers during the dinner and dessert
- clean up after the event
